Bradd Vickers, President of Chenango County Farm Bureau and landowner, wants people to know their rights when it comes to allowing gas & oil companies to drill on their land. Vickers says, "There is no such thing as a standard lease."

Giving landowners the facts before they sign that lease agreement was the subject of a meeting held February 8th. The meeting was hosted by Chenango County Farm Bureau and had an attorney and representatives from NYS Ag & Markets, DEC, Farm Bureau and various other organizations and businesses present to provide information.

Attorney Chris Denton gave permission to Chenango County Farm Bureau to post a copy of his (Copyright Protected) document, which hopefully will help to provide some insight as to what you should look for and insist upon before you sign on the dotted line.
